We travel through the hills of Perthshire, passing through Glen Shee, a well-known ski area, before continuing deeper into the Highlands.

Balmoral Castle is one of the most impressive estates in Scotland, set within vast grounds surrounded by forest, mountains, and river. When open, you’ll have the chance to explore the grounds and see inside the castle itself.

We’ll also visit the village of Braemar, a small highland village known for its connection to the Royal Family and the famous Highland Games, which Queen Elizabeth regularly attended.

There is the option to stop at The Fife Arms in Braemar for lunch, a well-known and characterful hotel with strong royal connections. Alternatively, we can stop at the Tarmachan Cafe near the Balmoral estate, a great spot for coffee and something lighter.

This is a relaxed but scenic day, combining royal history, beautiful landscapes, and some of Scotland’s most impressive countryside.
